It was a good story, but nothing really special.
Of it's type very Well done. Basically a back story to the main sequrnce, it still managed to hold my interest throughout.
It gave me hope. In the initial volumes, the Russians catch the Western Allies by surprise. They overwhelm unprepared military formations, seize vast stocks of POL, ammo, stores and some sophisticated electronics which go far toward supporting their thrust into Western Europe. They have thoroughly penetrated the military, scientific, industrial and diplomatic industries, and the products of Western engineering are brought home for evaluation and updating. The military can't seem to make a move without it being known and countered in advance.This book shows that we CAN eliminate spy networks, and we CAN keep secrets. Moreover, I was reminded of the fact that the inventive genius of the capitalist system has only begun to fight, and we can look forward to a cornucopia of scientific advances which will hurt the Reds. This novel leads me to anticipate that the pendulum will continue to swing back against the Reds in the future.
