I have enjoyed all of Russell Stendal's books. They are right with the Word of God, as I know it to be. His Spirit of theLord touches me and tells me this is the "Knowledge of His Will" for us as we move forward to the time of His return. Praise the Lord that He has spoken through this man to our edification.
Russel knows how to put the whole Bible together. This is more that a book, it is wisdom revealed to ordinary people
Very difficult to read and understand. Author skipped around way too much.
I was expecting to learn more about the philosophy of King Solomon .....what happened?
A great read
I have read over 35 books and commentaries on Ecclesiastes and this one was one of the poorest expositions of Ecclesiastes. The author failed to understand the book as a whole and took many verses out of context. He reads into verses what simply is not there. One example - in Ecc chapter 1 the wind circling around in context has to do with monotony - it is poetry. But the author sees the wind as a picture of how “God’s wind†is blowing through the earth. He spiritualises the text and fails to interpet the text in its context. I cannot recommend this book at all.
