The interactive element of shaking the characters out made them laugh out loud and the last page's illustration of the dog being half upside-down and half right-side up led to extended conversations of what might happen in a sequel. Definitely one for your elementary libraries!
Cute story! I'm a school librarian and I've read this to 3-7 year olds and they all enjoy it. It's a great way to introduce little kids to parts of the book as all the characters "disappear" into the spine and then reappear after following the instructions to turn the book and shake.
This was a quick read but my daughter’s kindergarten class loved it when I read it as mystery guest reader.
Such a funny Book for our class. We used it as a dialogical reading book and the kids adored it and wanted to buy it themselves!
